DAY 1 : PE
UPDATED--> SEPTEMBER 14, 2018
PTA MEETING AND ICE CREAM SOCIAL
Tuesday, September 18th @ 6:30 PM
The PTA invites you to their monthly meeting and ICE CREAM social. The Book Fair will also be open from 5:30-7:30PM.
The student in Mr. Bigley’s ELA classes will begin writing a personal narrative next week. The students have been instructed to come up with ideas for their writing piece over the weekend. Students should think of something that they personally experienced that occurred over a short period of time. (Example-“Trip to Six Flags” is too broad of a topic, but “riding a rollercoaster for the first time” is an appropriate idea for a personal narrative. “My Trip to New York” is too broad while “Seeing my first Broadway Show” is more appropriate). If the students are struggling with coming up with an idea, try looking through the camera roll on a phone or tablet. Looking at pictures with your child is a great way to help them generate ideas for narrative writing. I modeled this process with both of my ELA classes. Students should come to class on Monday with 2-3 ideas for their personal narrative.
Mr. Bigley’s class will start CONTINUE delivering the MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS next week. Three students will be on the announcements each morning. Please see the attached JPEG for your child’s assigned date. Make sure you child is at school by 7:35AM in order to rehearse and record their part. Thank you!
